Seasonal allergies, more so the throat hurting part is what I am focusing on today! Your throat is all about self identity, your creativity, and how you experience yourself in relation to others. I was the queen of throat pain growing up. I was shy- I know it is hard to believe if you know me but I was. I was nonetheless in the limelight all the time- so I had to suck it up really quickly.
I personally express myself better through written words. I suppose that is why I love creating the aftercare notes and therapy notes regarding each patient more so than my colleagues. Will and I converse often about my being a deep thinker, analytical and verbose.
I learned late in life you must speak up for yourself if you are to be taken seriously and respected. I am more in recent years learning how to become very vocal about communicating my needs.
I sometimes, especially when I am excited, talk very fast, and mumble, but have learned that I should enunciate my words. I worry that I am taking up people’s time and want to say what I have to say in a manner that is efficient, concise, so as not to waste time. But as I get older and I hope wiser I realize I can and SHOULD take up space, and I am worthy and worth having people take time to listen to me, what I say and me as a person , I matter!
Another question to ask yourself is where in your life are you not feeling heard, with that cough are you trying to bark so loud that people finally take notice of you!
Those with chronic throat pain, are you a bad listening, do you have problems with making decisions, do you have anxiety about how things will progress, are you trying to control every situation, how do you feel about authority, were you made fun of, do you feel what you have to say or you as a person are often husted, pushed to the side, even suffocated, suppressed?
